Wireless Modem A modem that accesses a private wireless data network or a wireless telephone system, such as the CDPD system. White Book A standard specification developed by Philips and JVC in 1993 for storing MPEG standard video on CDs. An extension of the Red Book standard for digital audio, Yellow Book standard for CD-ROM, Green Book standard for CD-i, and Orange Book standard for CD Write Once. WORM (write-once/read-many) memory A type of permanent optical storage that allows users to record original information on a blank disc, but does not allow erasure or change of that information once it is recorded.
